At VMworld Vegas, VMware announced availability of hybrid linked mode for vCenter. This allows you to view and manage both your on-prem vSphere environment as well as your SDDC in VMware Cloud on AWS. Let’s take a look at this awesome new feature! NOTE: Although similar, this is not vCenter Linked Mode or Enhanced Linked mode.
Requirements and Limitations for Hybrid Linked Mode
Currently, the following requirements and limitations apply for Hybrid Linked Mode.
- You can link a cloud SDDC to an on-premises data center running vSphere 6.5 patch d and later.
- You can link a cloud SDDC to only one on-premises data center.
- Only an embedded Platform Services Controller configuration is supported for the on-premises data center.
Forget logging into two vCenter Clients! Now you can login once for a seamless experience.
